MEET YOUR COACH

AMY LUCAS

“Movement has always been my language.”

Before I became a movement coach, I worked as a professional dancer. For years, I chased perfection, pushed my body to its limits, and lost myself in the process.
Movement became punishment - something I did to fix myself, not to feel myself.

That led me on a journey of rebuilding.
Reconnecting with my body.
Learning to move without judgment.
Finding confidence and giving myself permission to take up space.
Learning to trust my body again.

Now through She is ART

I help other women do the same to move fully and freely. To show up authentically. To feel safe and strong. To create the lives they want to live. To step into their truth unapologetically.

JOURNEY AS A DANCER

“Becoming a dancer was my childhood dream”

I began dancing at the age of 3 and instantly fell in love with the art form. Dance gave me confidence, discipline, and a way to express myself without needing words.

At 16, I left home to train full-time at Performers Dance College, studying musical theatre alongside dancers from all over the world. This was the turning point where dance shifted from a passion into a profession. The pressure to stand out, the constant comparison, and the competition slowly chipped away at the confidence I once had as a child. I began to lose myself.

After graduating, I joined a contemporary hip-hop company and toured across Europe, performing and pushing myself to keep up. I continued my training in LA, learning from world-class artists and immersing myself in the intensity of the industry.

But deep down, I knew I was forcing something. The deeper I went, the further I felt from myself.

That inner disconnect is what led me to the world of coaching.
To teaching, guiding, and using movement not for performance but for healing, self-discovery, and finding strength from within.

LIVING IN BALI

“I feel like myself here”

I lived in London for over 10 years - first working as a dancer, and then transitioning into movement coaching. During that time, I had the opportunity to teach at some incredible spaces, including Blok London, Third Space, and Waking Dreams.

But something still felt off. The pace, the noise, the hustle… I craved nature, space, and a deeper connection to myself and my environment.

In 2024, I decided to take a leap and move abroad. The original plan was Australia on a working visa - but I never made it past Bali.

Not long after arriving, I was offered a position at Nirvana Life, a gym focused on mobility and flexibility, the exact area I was looking to grow in as a teacher.

I’ve now spent the last two years living here, and I feel more like myself than I ever have before.

TRAINING & QUALIFCATIONS

“My journey into movement coaching has been shaped by a mix of study, personal exploration, and the lived experience of learning through my own body.”

I hold certifications as a:

  • Level 3 Personal Trainer (Premier Global)

  • 200 hour Vinyasa/Ashtanga (Sampoorna)

  • 300 hour Vinyasa/ Ashtanga (Sampoorna)

  • 300 hour Vinyasa (Kayla Nielsen)

Over the years, I’ve continued to deepen my knowledge through ongoing study in mobility, flexibility, and functional strength training - blending methods that support both physical performance and long-term wellbeing.

I now specialise in helping people build strength, improve mobility, and reconnect with their bodies through mindful, intentional movement. My teaching style bridges the gap between structure and flow combining precision, presence, and a deep respect for where each individual is in their journey.
